Internship Program Development/Support

Once the structured on-the-job training (“SOJT”) program is established for an employer’s targeted job classification(s), the employer’s subject matter experts are trained as certified resident trainers to train the apprentice to mastery of actual job-tasks. With very little additional effort and cost, the SOJT program can be extended to interns that will participate in a “pre-apprenticeship” internship aligned with apprenticeship-style programs for already existing job openings. The intern will master actual job-tasks based on a subset of the employer’s apprenticeship.

SOJT leading to task mastery will be recorded to enhance and document the trainee’s actual work experience gained, and provided in a portfolio certified and signed by the employer and educational institution. A personalized training record will enhance an intern’s employability, allowing the prospective employer to evaluate the intern for future employment by mastery of critical tasks of their host employer’s job classification.

More pathways for credentials are available to the intern, including a direct path to an apprenticeship with all SOJT transferable if hired by the host employer. State grants may be available for your internship project.

(Mountain Time) The philosophy behind, and development/implementation of, structured on-the-job training; the many benefits the employer can realize from the PROTECH© system of managed human resource development in more than just the training area; examples of projects across all industries, including manufacturing and manufacturing support companies. When combined with related technical instruction, this approach has been easily registered as an apprenticeship-focusing the structured on-the-job training on exactly what are the required tasks of the job. Registered or not, this approach is the most effective way to train workers to full capacity in the shortest amount of time –cutting internal costs of training while increasing worker capacity, productivity, work quality and quantity, and compliance.
