Certificate of Job Mastery ProgramsTM

A portfolio is prepared for the trainee to recognize them for successful completion of the accelerated transfer of expertise system requirements designed to the employer’s target job classification. The portfolio assists employers in evaluating the cumulative education, skills and work experience of the individual after the program has been completed.

It accurately details the level of demonstrated task mastery and core skill development demonstrated for which the employer is willing to certify that to be true. Proactive Technologies, Inc.® creates, manages and documents each trainee’s progress in a structured on-the-job training program and prepares a certificate and portfolio, the results of which are reviewed and certified by the partner public or private education and training institution.

Establishing a Proactive Technologies, Inc. Certification of Task Mastery Program™ – Certificate of Job Mastery Program™ begins with the job/task analysis of the target job classification (i.e. to the “best practice” for each task, core skills and abilities required prerequisite and developed post-hire, tools and equipment required, safety considerations and reference documents necessary to perform the task). Proactive Technologies then generates the entire human resource development program materials, trains and certifies the on-the-job training instructors, and tracks and documents each person’s development toward near-full or full job mastery.

For each trainee, Proactive Technologies prepares, verifies and certifies the documents which are presented to the partner educational institution to complete the formal Certification of Task Mastery, for those who have made significant progress but not completed the training, or Certificate of Job Mastery, for those who have mastered all of the tasks of the job classification. The educational institution then signs the Certificate in the prepared portfolio of records and stores copies of the records that support the certification.

The employer is the final signatory to the certificate to lend further assurance that the individual has demonstrated the specified tasks to the employer’s satisfaction. The complete portfolio can then be conveyed to the trainee.

Since the job was analyzed so thoroughly, the reports contained in the portfolio not only specify the mastered tasks of the job, but the required core skills, abilities and other requirements demonstrated while performing the mastered tasks, as well. When available, the trainee’s Pre-hire education, prior work experience and classes taken prior to employment and while employed are included in the portfolio’s Employee File Report.

The portfolio is a great incentive for an employee to learn their job completely, and the documentation necessary for obtaining a Certificate of Apprenticeship Completion if the program is registered as an apprenticeship with the state. For those employees wishing to obtain a college degree, it is also a way for the employee to negotiate college credit at 2 and 4-year institutions, which are currently willing to give up to 75% credit in some cases for documented “work experience.”

The Crash of 2008 and the Covid-19 Pandemic have caused disruptions to not just businesses, but the entire economy. Changes in company ownership can change in business strategy and training project support. During these disruptions, several Proactive Technologies projects were set-up for employers and ready to implement, or implementation started but paused temporarily, some indefinitely, as internal project knowledge and advocacy dissipated. Employee and management contacts were either laid-off, reassigned or retired. The significant value of what was established remains and Proactive Technologies saved each company’s data set up that point. Here is a chance to discover what was established, where we left off and what it would take to restart the program. The philosophy behind, and development/implementation of, structured on-the-job training; the many benefits from the PROTECH® © system of managed human resource development in more than just the training area; examples of projects with manufacturing and manufacturing support companies (aerospace, Tier-1 and 2 automobile suppliers, chemical companies, facilities maintenance companies, rubber/polymer manufacturers); compliance support provided by the system for ISO/AS/IATF and Nadcap quality programs as well as OSHA safety requirements; and how many structured on-the-job training programs were, or can be, unregistered apprenticeships or registered as apprenticeships.
