Special Offer to South Carolina Manufacturers

Proactive Technologies, Inc.® announced a special opportunity for South Carolina manufacturers who, prior to the “Economic Crash of 2008-2011,” participated in a structured on-the-job training program through one of the UpState community or technical colleges. Proactive Technologies provided the structured on-the-job training component and is extending a special discount offer through January 15th, 2016 to “pick up where we left off.” In addition, for any South Carolina manufacturers who haven’t yet experienced the PROTECH©®system of managed human resource development™, we have a great offer for you as well.

Prior to the Crash, Proactive Technologies had set up for many South Carolina manufacturers structured on-the-job training programs (some for multiple job classifications) that were in the process of implementation. This was in combination with related technical instruction to provide the employer and trainees a robust registered apprenticeship program. Some employers reached the apprenticeship registration stage, some had not. With the Crash came changes in client staffing, short-term priorities and workforce development contacts, so several of the programs went dormant though many continued through to today.

A lot of effort went into setting up the original grant-funded program, and together success was reached in:

  1. Performing a thorough job/task analysis (incorporating the client’s processes) of selected job classification(s);
  2. Producing the structured on-the-job training materials: Miscellaneous HR Reports, Structured On-the-Job Training Delivery materials, Structured On-the-Job Training Checklist materials (customized for each employee), Technical Procedures (job-performance aids; synced with any of the client’s process documents), Data Collection sets (summary of data for process improvement and content validation);
  3. Performing a “Task Mastery Inventory” of the existing workers in the job classification to customize their On-the Job Training Checklist materials and focus structured on-the-job training to close the “gap;”
  4. Setting up a PROTECH©® database to manage the implementation of the structured on-the-job training, document and report the results monthly and to prepare the Certificate of Job Mastery Program™ Portfolios. These portfolios are conveyed to the worker upon completion of the structured on-the-job training program and provide documentation that the apprenticeship’s “hands-on” requirement is met. A copy is sent to ApprenticeshipSC.

Several of you continued with the structured on-the-job training through that troubling period and through to today. Others put their program, inadvertently or not, on hold. Either way, it seems a shame that we have come so far with the program and that employers/employees are not be able take full advantage of it. The major portion of the investment had already been made to set up the infrastructure. All that is needed is to revise the data, reinventory the employees, rerun the materials and restart the implementation process!

That is why Proactive Technologies, Inc. would like to extend a special offer good through January 15, 2016. Proactive Technologies is extending deep discounts to your organization on our technical support agreements to help restart and support the program that was set up for you. We still have a PROTECH database set up for your organization for the targeted job classification(s) with your employees’ “progress to the date” documented to where we left off. We can easily provide technical support to:

  1. Revalidate the job/task analysis data, updating it for any changes that occurred, and rerun the master materials;
  2. Update your employee list in our PROTECH database and re-inventory all employees to the revised job data set to run their updated customized On-the-Job Training Checklists materials;
  3. Train your resident structured on-the-job training trainers to use the materials developed;
  4. Provide technical support for 8,12, 16 or more months, including job/data revision as the job changes – binder supplements, monthly OJT reporting and apprenticeship reporting support;

This approach supports ISO/IATF/AS quality programs, LEAN, process improvement strategies, etc. This approach helps standardize processes with synced training materials to facilitate safety and process compliance. It only makes sense to leverage the investment already made by selecting a support package built to fit your needs and level of investment.

Proactive Technologies, Inc. has many years of experience in designing and supporting structured on-the-job training/related technical instruction projects designed to the client’s specifications. We have helped clients, once convinced of the power of this approach, to expand the program’s reach by providing a wide range of support services…for some organizations this support has continued over 15 years!

Proactive Technologies has a great discount program for South Carolina manufacturers who have not had a chance to experience this approach, as well, offered through January 15, 2016. We can set you up with a turnkey package which includes establishing your structured on-the-job training infrastructure and providing technical assistance to implement it properly. We will even build a staged project approach to mitigate any risk your organization might perceive to allow you the see results before you decide to continue/expand. Proactive Technologies builds programs to fit your firm’s unique needs, not force an alien system into your business model.

In this newsletter, we have listed some online presentation dates for companies. If this opportunity interests you, and you would like to attend an online presentation, feel free to click on a date and time good for you and fill in “Contact Us” fields of our webpage and we will email you an invitation link. If none of the dates work for you, let us know a date and time that does and we will set it up. From that, we can draft a proposal and, if still interested, follow-up with an onsite meeting.

This approach will truly cut your internal costs of training while raising work quality and quantity, worker capacity and compliance. You will see dramatic increases in the “return on worker investment (ROWI).” And you will be surprised how quickly we can update and resume your structured on-the-job training program or build one from scratch. We will even explore available grant sources to see if your project’s investment requirement can be minimized.

Classes and online learning are helpful in building a strong worker skill base, but that must be followed with a deliberate transfer of worker expertise; structured on-the-job training designed to the actual work you expect to be performed. One without the other may leave you significantly short of your workforce goals and impact your business operations. We would really recommend taking a few minutes to see what we have to offer; no risk, huge results.
